With all the Alec Baldwin bashing going on lately, how about some footage of a kinder, friendlier Baldwin. Here he is playing lovable homosexual Charles Nelson Reilly alongside Will Ferrell’s James Lipton in an SNL “Inside the Actors Studio” sketch. Come on, America, you can’t be mad at someone sporting a neckerchief and comically over-sized glasses. You’re A-OK in my book, Mr. Baldwin.
Yeah, Will Ferrell has done a lot of SNL sketches over the years, so most people would be hesitant to pick a definitive best one. Not me. In fact, here is a conversation about this topic that I recently had with a friend of mine:
Matt: Dude, the “Mr. Tarkanian” sketch is easily Ferrell’s best. Violence against women, a rape threat against a man, a trident murder…what more could you want?
Friend : I like “More Cowbell” better.
Matt: First of all, you are wrong. Secondly, that was primarily a Walken sketch.
Friend (more like an acquaintance): I don’t care. It’s still a better sketch.
Matt: NO! YOU ARE AN IDIOT AND YOU ARE WRONG!
Friend (but not really): Dude, chill out. All I’m saying is…
Matt: NO! I WON’T CHILL OUT UNTIL YOU ADMIT THAT YOU’RE WRONG!
Friend (borderline enemy): That’s ridiculous, I won’t admit th…
Matt: *Shoots “friend” in the chest* See? You see what you made me do? I hope you’re happy.
Friend (probably rotting in hell): …
Bill Brasky is faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Wait, or is that Superman? Trick question…Bill Brasky is Superman.
Anyways, here are all 5 Brasky SNL sketches, in order of their appearance on the show. -MATT
My personal favorite - “Brasky decides he’s gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all begged for their lives…except Fleegle.” Feel free to comment on your favorite Brasky quote from the above videos, or just make up one of your own. Best made-up Brasky comment wins a fabulous prize - my respect.
Here is Peyton Manning’s ONE funny sketch on SNL last night. The rest of it was not funny. Either that, or I was in a bad mood last night. Why would I be in a bad mood though? I was home. Alone. On Saturday night. Watching Schindler’s List.
United Way sponsored Peyton Manning’s charity SNL commercial so if you watch it, it’s like donating to charity.
